Entlaq and Savannah collaborate to support Sudanese entrepreneurs in Egypt

In order to support Sudanese migrants and refugees who are starting businesses in Egypt, Entlaq, the premier think tank in Egypt dedicated to transforming the nation’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, and Savannah, a well-known incubator and advisory firm in Sudan that aims to maximize the potential of the Sudanese startup ecosystem by developing global citizens and responsible leaders, have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership aims to help migrant and refugee entrepreneurs transition their businesses into the formal economy through comprehensive support, training, and advocacy efforts.

With immediate effect, this partnership lays the groundwork for a number of interventions aimed at improving the socioeconomic standing of Sudanese migrant and refugee entrepreneurs in Egypt. The agreement’s primary goals centre on fostering economic integration, supporting entrepreneurship, and formalizing migrant-led businesses.

In order to make it easier for migrant entrepreneurs to succeed in Egypt’s business climate, Entlaq and Savannah will also push for laws that specifically address their needs.

Furthermore, the collaboration will offer an incubation program that consists of training courses, workshops, and mentorship schemes designed to give entrepreneurs the tools they need to be successful. In addition to legal and financial advisory services that will help entrepreneurs through the process of formalizing and expanding their businesses, business clinics will be provided to assist entrepreneurs in overcoming obstacles.

“The bond between Egypt and Sudan has always been strong, evolving through the rich histories of both nations. This partnership between Entlaq and Savannah is the latest chapter in that enduring relationship, paving the way for a new generation to collaborate in building a prosperous future for both countries. Together, we will ensure that Sudanese youth and businesses, now finding a foothold in Egypt, can skillfully navigate the Egyptian ecosystem—bringing value to their new host community while gaining the skills needed to thrive, whether as entrepreneurs or in blue- and white-collar professions. This partnership symbolises a shared commitment to empowerment, growth, and the limitless potential of our people,” said Yousif Yahya, Founder and Managing Director of Savannah Innovation Labs.

“This agreement is a crucial step towards fostering a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem in Egypt. Migrant entrepreneurs bring immense potential to the economy, and our partnership with Savannah will provide them with the support they need to succeed,” added Omar Rezk, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Entlaq.

He also added, ”Entlaq will be conducting a series of focus groups to identify the specific challenges faced by Sudanese migrant entrepreneurs. These findings will be analysed and shared with relevant stakeholders to guide further action and will help in the development of the incubation programme.”

Through this collaboration, Entlaq is demonstrating its dedication to fostering an inclusive, data-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem that will propel sustainable economic growth, and Savannah is carrying out its mission of empowering immigrant communities.

With its headquarters in Sudan, Savannah Development Company Ltd. has established a welcoming platform devoted to empowering business owners via mentoring, education, and advisory services. Savannah is driven by a partnership and collaboration model that is centered around Sudan and stimulates the growth of social entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainability. Savannah hopes to boost innovators and entrepreneurs, particularly those from the Sudanese diaspora, by giving them access to a worldwide network of seasoned professionals.
