With the help of Venture Catalysts and 9 Unicorn, the premium renewed smartphone brand ControlZ has raised $3 million in its seed round. Debt and equity are used in tandem to provide this funding.
The money raised will be utilized to upgrade testing facilities to the level of OEMs and strengthen automation even more, ensuring that pre-owned smartphones perform similarly to brand-new models.
ControlZ was founded by Yug Bhatia and offers consumers novel experiences through the component-level renewal of pre-owned devices.
The startup’s main goal is to extend the life of devices and, in the end, lessen the manufacturing of smartphones, which are thought to account for between 85 and 95 percent of the annual carbon footprint of a device.
The company says that by giving phones the longest lifespan possible, it is attempting to lessen the environmental impact of producing new gadgets.
