Sports-tech startup Spolto raised $1 M Seed funding from Andrew Johnston, others

A seed round led by Andrew Johnston and others has seen the sports-tech startup Spolto raise $1 million, or almost Rs 8.4 crore.

According to a press release from Spolto, the money raised will be used to expand the company’s services and reach more urban areas.

Spolto, which was co-founded in 2021 by Divesh Nathani and Safa Soltani, aims to empower sports in urban India. The platform gives users access to a variety of sports, including pickleball and badminton in addition to swimming, tennis, and gymnastics. The startup wants to make sports a vital part of urban Indians’ daily lives by encouraging grassroots sports development and recreational skill-building.

In order to meet the demands of the modern Indian consumer, Spolto claims that it is about to improve its online presence. It aims to establish itself as India’s premier platform for sports skill development in urban areas by prioritizing ease of use and accessibility.

Since its founding, the Pune-based business asserts that it has partnered with more than 1,200 coaches and academies in 12 different sports in Maharashtra.
