Vision AI startup SwitchON raised $4.2 M Series A funding from Angel investors

Anuj Bihani, Laxmi Narayan, and other angel investors helped the vision AI startup SwitchOn raise $4.2 million in its Series A round. The round was also led by the Singapore-based fund Axilor Ventures, Pi Ventures, and other investors.

According to a press release from the startup, this investment will enable SwitchOn to maintain its growth in India, scale up internationally with major corporations, make important hires in sales and technology, and invest in research and development.

SwitchOn, a product that Aniruddha and Avra launched in 2020, assists manufacturing companies in lowering defects and raising product quality. The SwitchOn platform has been integrated by its clients, including Unilever, ITC, SKF, and others, to quickly train deep learning quality control models.

DeepInspect, the company’s flagship product, claims to have superhuman accuracy of over 99% and assists manufacturers in quickly identifying complex surface flaws. The quick setup allows manufacturers to adopt and fully automate their quality inspection and deploy hundreds of SKUs in just days using less than 200 high-quality images to train AI models.

Kris Gopalakrishnan and SD Shibulal, two of the original founders of Infosys, founded Axilor Ventures, an early-stage seed fund and startup accelerator. Among the companies in its portfolio are Reshamandi, FreshR, Loco, Cash Positive, SquadStack, BizzTM, SigTurple, and CapGrid Solutions.
