$2 B Metaverse fund to be launched by Animoca Brands

According to co-founder Yat Siu, Hong Kong-based VC and software firm Animoca Brands is preparing to create a US $2 billion fund to support metaverse enterprises.

The company set the record for the most investments made in the cryptocurrency market in the first half of 2022 with a remarkable 66 transactions.

After raising US $75.3 million in July of last year, Animoca Brands had a US$5.9 billion valuation. The company received a US $110 million round from investors in early September, including Temasek and GGV Capital, and another US $21 million later in the month.

A new generation of edtech NFTs was also released, according to the company. These were introduced through TinyTap, a division of the company that the business purchased in June for US $39 million.

The 2014-founded Animoca has approximately 340 stakes in its portfolio.
