$7.7 M Series A funding raised by Populix

With participation from Altos Ventures and Quest Ventures, Populix, an Indonesia-based consumer insights platform, has secured US $7.7 million in a series A round headed by Intudo Ventures and Acrew Capital.

In Indonesia, Populix connects organizations, groups, and people with databases of responders. Populix was founded in 2018.

Through this platform, researchers may start studies, commission projects, join a specific panel of respondents, purchase pre-made datasets and reports, and conduct investigations. Respondents can engage in research and do activities in the meanwhile to earn money, points, and gift cards.

Over 300,000 verified responders from Populix’s platform, representing different Indonesian generational groups, are already available. The business said its income increased three times in the previous year and that it has worked with more than 1,500 clients since 2020.

The company intends to utilize the additional cash to intensify the digitization of its data collecting procedure, carry out further product optimization, roll out new services, and increase regional expansion. By 2023, the business will also begin its development into the Southeast Asian nations that are nearby.

“Populix shows that new business models can emerge in unexpected places and uproot preconceived notions of what consumer insights can do for businesses by adapting to the unique contexts of Indonesia,” said Theresia Gouw, founding partner of Silicon Valley-based Acrew Capital.
