Pluckk received $5 M seed funding from Exponentia Ventures
Pluckk, a fresh produce food-tech startup, has acquired $5 million in initial investment from Exponentia Ventures, a firm that focuses on new company concepts in both the B2C and B2B arena.
Pratik Gupta founded Pluckk in 2021 with the goal of creating India’s first digital commerce enterprise to meet the rising need for lifestyle-oriented fresh food.
The company’s offering is based on worldwide dietary trends such as veganism, carb alternatives, gut health, and immunity, as well as plant-forward eating for diabetes prevention and mental wellness.
This round of money will go into hiring the appropriate people, developing technology, establishing farm-to-fork infrastructure, acquiring customers, and expanding into important metro areas.
A portion of the funds will be used to buy Indus Fresh, an established player in the fresh FnV market that serves both B2C and B2B clients such as Flipkart, Amazon, Swiggy, Dunzo, and Zepto.
Pratik Gupta, CEO and Co-Founder Pluckk, said: “The biggest consumer revolution we are witnessing today is that consumers not only want to enjoy eating but are also increasingly very careful on what they eat. Pluckk aims to be the brand of choice by providing the widest curated range of such lifestyle-oriented fresh produce.
“At the core, Pluckk will work with farmers through its bespoke win-win programme that focuses on-farm practices to ensure residue-free and traceable produce.”
