With $100 M funding, online learning platform Physics Wallah joins unicorn club
Physics Wallah, a self-funded online education startup, has secured $100 million in its first round of investment spearheaded by WestBridge Capital and GSV Ventures, making it the newest edtech to join India’s unicorn club. According to a prepared statement, the firm is worth $1.1 billion.

According to a prepared statement, the cash will be used for company development, branding, the opening of more offline learning centres, and the introduction of new course options.
Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Odia, Malayalam, and Kannada are among the nine vernacular languages that Physics Wallah plans to provide instructional content in. The startup’s main goal is to interact with 250 million kids across the country by 2025, according to the business.
“This latest development will help us further our vision and implement new initiatives to augment the learning journeys of students, thereby enabling them to reach new heights in their careers. Our commitment remains that every dollar spent in Physics Wallah is for the greater good of learners,” Alakh Pandey, cofounder, Physics Wallah said.
