IFC’s “She Wins Africa” programme invites applications from female entrepreneurs

The She Wins Africa program, run by IFC, a unit of the World Bank, is now accepting applications. Its goal is to provide networking opportunities, training, advice, and mentorship to help up to 5,000 women-led startups grow.

She Wins Africa, a component of IFC’s larger strategy to support female entrepreneurs, is available to female-led startups and business owners operating in Sub-Saharan Africa.

A group of African startups led by women in various sectors will receive initial support from the program. It offers networking opportunities with investors and venture capital firms as well as a pitch competition for participants.

“African women are highly entrepreneurial yet often lack the support and funding they need to succeed. She Wins Africa aims to rectify this by equipping women with skills, tools, and opportunities to scale their businesses,” said Mary Porter Peschka, IFC’s regional director for Eastern Africa.

“IFC is excited to welcome innovative women entrepreneurs to the She Wins Africa programme and helps them grow their businesses and reach new heights.”

Applications are open until September 15.
