Olam’s AgriCentral acquired by DeHaat in all-cash deal

In an all-cash transaction, agritech platform DeHaat purchased AgriCentral from Olam Agri.

DeHaat’s capacity to offer complete agricultural solutions throughout India’s villages is improved by the acquisition. Farmers’ livelihoods will be further improved by DeHaat’s ability to provide precision advisory, mechanization, insurance, and cattle advisory through the integration of AgriCentral’s capabilities.

With over 10 million users, AgriCentral is a digital advisory platform that provides services like community engagement, diagnostics, crop planning, and crop price data. The platform, which was introduced in 2018, supports farmers by utilizing cutting-edge technologies like big data analytics, machine learning, and satellite imagery.

More than 15,000 DeHaat Centers and alliances with more than 1,000 agribusiness organizations are part of DeHaat’s vast network. Established in 2012, DeHaat provides farming solutions in more than 12 states, including market connections, quality input delivery, and advisory services.

DeHaat hopes to establish itself as the biggest full-stack agritech platform in India with this acquisition. FarmGuide, Vezamart, Helicrofter, YCook, and Freshtrop Fruits’ fruit export division are among its prior acquisitions.

DeHaat’s gross revenue increased from Rs 1,965 crore in FY23 to Rs 2,674.8 crore for the fiscal year that ended in March 2024. Its losses during the period decreased from Rs 371 crore in FY23 to Rs 244.68 crore, a 34% decrease.
