Ambulance startup Dial4242 raises Rs 9 Cr Pre-series A funding

The IAN Group-led pre-Series A funding round for the ambulance tech startup Dial4242 has raised Rs 9 crore, or about $1.04 million, with participation from BioAngels, IIM Bangalore’s NSRCEL, and other prominent angel investors.

In September 2023, Dial4242 raised Rs 1 crore in its seed round, which was led by Hyderabad-based angel investors, G Vamshi Raju, and Starfish Ventures.

The money raised will be utilized to expand medical centers in underserved areas, increase leadership hiring, improve ambulance turnaround times from 12 to less than 8 minutes, and scale operations.

Over 850 cities are served by the tech-enabled ambulance network operated by Dial4242, which was founded in 2016 by Jeetendra Lalwani, Nilesh Mahambre, and Atin Verma. Real-time tracking, automated dispatch, and round-the-clock emergency coordination are all made possible by its platform. Using an asset-light, tech-first approach, the startup has collaborated with companies such as Amazon, Zomato, and Swiggy to give gig workers access to emergency care.

Additionally, the brand intends to strengthen hospital partnerships, raise emergency response standards, and introduce a low-cost membership model that provides free ambulance access.

In the ambulance booking market, Dial4242 faces competition from companies such as MeduLance, HelpNow, ESahai, AmbiPalm, and Mo Ambulance.
