Office software provider Cybozu aims to invest $6.4 M in Malaysia expansion

Cybozu, a collaborative office software company based in Japan and well-known for its Kintone platform, has invested an initial $6.4 million to grow its business in Malaysia.

Cybozu stated in a statement on Wednesday that the expansion is a component of a larger plan, with Southeast Asia being its most promising area for worldwide expansion. The action comes after a solid 2025 revenue result of $240.06 million. Its Kintone platform, which brought in $138.72 million in revenue and was up 33.9% year over year, contributed to the growth.

With Malaysia as its Southeast Asian headquarters, the company intends to expedite digital transformation among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The region has significant growth potential, according to CEO Yoshihisa Aono, especially in Malaysia and Thailand, where there is a growing need for digital solutions.

Given that Malaysia’s digital economy is expected to grow from $45 billion to $70 billion by 2030, Cybozu intends to coordinate its growth with the country’s 13th Malaysia Plan. According to Cybozu, the investment will help local businesses adopt digital tools and support infrastructure.

Cybozu is making additional investments in its Malaysian headquarters as part of its regional expansion to support operations in Southeast Asia. Additionally, the business is promoting projects related to Kintone AI Lab and its partnership with the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation.

In addition to the CRM Suite, which was introduced in February 2026, Kintone will implement Malay language support throughout its platform to facilitate local adoption.
