Transition VC led Rs 6.5 Cr Seed funding raised by ZeroDrag

In a seed funding round headed by Transition VC, ZeroDrag, a drone avionics and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) sub-components company, raised Rs 6.5 crore.
The startup had previously raised Rs 1.2 crore in September 2023 from Enrission India Capital and other angel investors in a pre-seed funding round.
According to a press release from ZeroDrag, the proceeds will be utilized to increase R&D capabilities, scale manufacturing capacity, fortify testing and quality infrastructure, enhance supply chain stability, and quicken the development of next-generation UAV avionics for Indian and international markets.
Amit Nimje and Shantanu Bhede co-founded ZeroDrag, a drone avionics and UAV systems company, in 2022 with the goal of developing domestic electronics, communication systems, and drone hardware that is ready for autonomy.
For drone manufacturers, enterprise UAV platforms, FPV users, and industrial applications, the Nagpur-based startup creates autopilots, motor controllers, GNSS modules, telemetry systems, communication infrastructure, and payload integration systems. In order to help UAV companies design, produce, and scale dependable drone systems for Indian and international markets, it seeks to establish the fundamental electronics layer.
Drone OEMs in the defense, agricultural, logistics, and industrial sectors receive high-performance sub-components from ZeroDrag. The company can support a variety of drone platforms and use cases across markets thanks to its OEM-agnostic and application-agnostic approach.
ZeroDrag intends to increase its manufacturing capacity, grow its engineering staff, enhance product availability, and diversify its product line into enterprise-grade UAV hardware, such as systems for heavy-lift drones and upcoming eVTOL platforms, over the course of the next 12 to 24 months.
In this market, it faces competition from businesses like Holybro, Caddx, SpeedyBee, and HGLRC.
