Women’s health brand Avni Wellness raises Rs 4 Cr Seed funding

Women’s health brand Avni Wellness has raised Rs 4 crore in a seed funding round led by Proteus Partners, with participation from Puru Gupta, Sreejith Moolayil, A. Velumani, and Somya Nigam.

The proceeds will be used to strengthen its digital commerce engine, expand its cycle nutrition portfolio, scale its women-led micro entrepreneur network, and expand its marketplace presence, Avni Wellness said in a press release.

Co-founded in 2021 by Sujata Pawar and Apurv Agarwal, Avni Wellness is a science-backed, toxin-free, holistic cycle care brand built to address women’s health across every phase of life, from adolescence to menopause.

The organization strives to solve neglected gaps in India, such as hormonal health, nutrition, and long-term well-being, and operates at the nexus of women’s health, livelihood, and sustainability.

The market for feminine hygiene products is expected to grow to Rs 70.20 billion by 2025, according to market research.

In order to address the widespread iron shortage among Indian women, the Mumbai-based business claims that their portfolio includes a proprietary antimicrobial reusable pad and a liposomal iron supplement intended for improved nutrient absorption. In order to provide a whole lifecycle approach to women’s health, the brand also provides solutions for PCOS treatment, calcium support, UTI and vaginal health, and seed-based hormonal nutrition.

It faces competition from companies like Pee Safe, Nua, and Plush in the larger women’s health market.
