Primebook, an Android laptop company, has raised $2 million in a pre-Series A funding round that consists of both debt and equity. In addition to other investors like Bhavesh Gupta and Rikant Pittie, co-founder and CEO of EaseMyTrip, Inflection Point Ventures, Auxano Capital, and NexG Devices participated in the round.

The business raised $1 million in its seed round in December 2022, which was co-led by Infotel Business Solution, Brindavan Group, and Kundan Group. Aman Gupta and Peyush Bansal gave the brand Rs 75 lacs during their appearance on Shark Tank India Season 2.

According to a press release from Primebook, the new funding will be utilized for R&D and product innovation, brand building and awareness, and business expansion.

Aman Verma and Chitranshu Mahant co-founded Primebook in 2018 with the goal of democratizing computing for students and learners who are accustomed to using digital devices. The company creates intelligent, reasonably priced laptops for students that run on its proprietary PrimeOS operating system, which is based on Android, by fusing hardware innovation with software intelligence.

According to the Delhi-based company, its PrimeOS was developed especially for students and learners in blended online education programs, making it easier for students to use and understand. For someone accustomed to Android, the laptop is very easy and efficient to use, has Android app compatibility, and allows for simultaneous app switching.

Students who might not have access to conventional laptops, especially those in tier II, III, and IV cities, are its main target audience, according to Primebook. The brand says it has a 5% market share in the laptop market under Rs 20,000 after two years, with a two-fold YoY growth.
