The acclaimed international accelerator of hardware-led social innovation, the ASME Innovation Showcase (ISHOW), has chosen eight African entrepreneurs as regional venture finalists.
The esteemed ASME ISHOW hardware accelerator is available to people and organizations launching tangible goods that will enhance global quality of life and have a beneficial social and environmental impact.
Every year, ASME pairs up to thirty carefully chosen projects with suitable technical specialists to guaranty that the suggested hardware solutions are financially, culturally, ecologically, and technologically viable. To date, it has helped more than 250 businesses from more than 35 countries address important quality-of-life issues for vulnerable communities across the globe.
Eight African social entrepreneurs have been chosen to compete for three slots in the 2026 ISHOW global cohort, which will provide them with access to ASME’s expert network, a portion of grant prizes, and technical assistance to help them commercialize their innovative ideas.
These include BMTA&C Energy’s clean, solar-powered smart refrigeration technology; KilimoChills’ “solar-powered cold storage room”; Ecomobilus Technologies’ “e-Mkoko,” a solar-powered electric handcart; and AISHA, an AI-powered voice assistant installed on inexpensive hardware that provides healthcare information to patients and healthcare workers in underserved communities.
Kumva Insights’ “Farm Smarter Platform,” Orienta’s “HVAD” technology, Team CannaSave’s “CannaSave” system, and Yaaka Investment’s “Yaaka E-waste recycling plant” round out the cohort.
