Astrogate Labs raised $1.3 M from Piper Serica

The Piper Serica Angel Fund is leading the $1.3 million pre-series funding round for spacetech startup Astrogate Labs.
The money raised will be utilized to scale operations, improve collaborations with space agencies and defense groups, and expedite the development of its laser communication terminals for space and other use cases in terrestrial and aerial applications.
Astrogate Labs, which was founded by Nitish Singh, Yogeshwaran J, and Subhajit Chakraborty, offers technology to enhance data downlink for small satellite constellations, enabling them to send data to the ground more effectively.
By 2030, it is anticipated that there will be more than 25,000 small satellites in orbit, placing significant strain on existing radio frequency systems due to spectrum congestion and bandwidth constraints. According to Astrogate, their laser communication solutions offer a scalable substitute for secure, high-speed data transfer of up to 10 Gbps.
Astrogate Labs also graduated from the Seraphim Space Accelerator APAC Program in 2023 and has been recognized for its technological innovations, such as DRDO Dare to Dream 4.0.
The Bengaluru-based business has received early funding to support the development of its cutting-edge technology from Speciale Invest, SatSure, and Anicut Capital.
