Agritech startup pwip clocks revenue of 115 Cr in the last 2 years

The company in its two years of operations has clocked a cumulative revenue of 115 Crores. Owing to its tech-enabled Rice sourcing, miller discovery, buyer discovery, order placing and sample booking platform, it has been able to mobilize and optimize rice supply chains. PWIP is looking to clock Rs 150 crores in the FY 2022-23, additionally, it will be looking ahead to expand into other miller and Buyer markets in the next 12 months.

“India in the last year exported INR 70,000 crores worth of rice and the sad part is almost none of the importers know from which mill in India did their rice come from, what are the quality parameters associated with it and in some cases which variety of rice was actually packed and exported. We will not settle until we change this,” says Dhanraj Kidiyoor Co-Founder and CEO.

To achieve this the most important step to start with is to first bring these millers onto a platform. The start-up has seen good growth in recent quarters and going forward, wants to strengthen the countrywide presence and boost its tech capabilities and network. It already enjoys a wide network of Millers across different states including Maharashtra, Kolkata, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Gujarat and is currently running operations in Burdwan in Kolkata, Raichur in Karnataka, Nellore and Ongole in Andhra Pradesh and some parts of Chhattisgarh.

 

It also already enjoys a wide network of Importers across different countries

Including UAE, Saudi, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Oman, and South Africa. The start-up is aiming to grab more rice pockets and foreign markets to expand operations in the near future. The start-up has a good social media presence across various platforms including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn which they believe is helping them to build trust with their customers. Initially started by providing services on WhatsApp, now it has developed mobile apps for Millers, exporters, and Importers for their better understanding of market prices, elimination of middlemen, and establishment of a direct connection between Buyer and supplier to avoid margin leakage, better profits, helping in discovering and connecting with their trade partners and facilitating hassle free trade.
