Climate Innovation Labs invite climate tech innovators in MENA

Young innovators in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) who are developing climate technology solutions have been invited by the Youth Climate Innovation Labs to participate in a three-day launchpad. The top projects will receive a 6–8-week Climate Innovation Academy Programme to help them develop their businesses.

The Youth Climate Innovation Lab is a three-day event where young innovators from the MENA area interact with professionals in climate technology, entrepreneurship, and business. It is a partnership between the UN Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), SAFEEM, and Seedstars.

In particular industries and technological disciplines, it will investigate design thinking approaches to generate and test creative ideas for climate mitigation and adaptation. In response to the risks posed by climate change to the MENA area, it will assist participants to stretch their entrepreneurial muscles and developing commercial solutions for increased climate action.

“With governments across the MENA region leapfrogging their nations towards oil-independent economies, it is time to equip our youth with the knowledge and tools to drive climate action initiatives,” said Mohamad Fanous, programme manager for MENA at Seedstars.

Here, applications can be submitted till September 4.
