D2C paan brand The Betel Leaf raised $1.2 M Bridge funding
Inflection Point Ventures and Venture Catalysts led the $1.2 million bridge round for the FSSAI-certified online paan startup, The Betel Leaf.
The Betel Leaf raised $800,000 in seed capital in November 2021, with the help of Venture Catalysts and 100Unicorns (previously known as 9Unicorns).
Within the next two years, the proceeds will be used to increase the current retail and online presence from 45 kitchens to 100 kitchens in India and abroad. In order to improve consistency and expand production volume and range, it is also creating new automation technology. Some of the innovative products it produces are the ARID paan, a betel leaf-based paan with a 9-month shelf life.
The Betel Leaf is a direct-to-consumer (D2C) company that was founded in 2019 by Prem Rheja and Payal Raheja. It offers paan and other products based on paan online.
Fresh Pans, ARID Pans, Celebration Hampers, Betel Chocolate, and Betal Leaf Tea are among its paan offerings.
With the signing of major accounts with Reliance Retail, Spar, and numerous other retail chains, the startup now hopes to expand its entire retail footprint. The Betel Leaf Co. currently exports to the USA, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, and Nairobi.
