In a pre-seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), cybersecurity startup Neural Defend has raised over $600K, with participation from MIT SBXI, Techstars, and Soonicorn Ventures.

According to a press release from Neural Defend, the funding will be utilized to improve its agentic AI capabilities for multimodal, real-time deepfake detection, thereby promoting research and development and product development.

Neural Defend, a cybersecurity startup co-founded in 2024 by Piyush Verma, Sivashankar Selvarajan, and Sumit Singh, specializes in deepfake detection and uses AI agentic technology to provide scalable and reliable solutions.

Addressing the increasing threats posed by AI-generated digital deception is the goal of Neural Defend. Globally, the startup hopes to revolutionize fraud prevention and identity protection. By working with multinational corporations, fintech firms, and financial institutions to validate its products and expand its market, it is scaling its operations.

According to Neural Defend, its in-house AI models identify deepfakes in a variety of data formats, such as audio, video/image, and real-time streams, in contrast to conventional techniques, guaranteeing strong fraud prevention for governments and corporations.
