Eden Life, a Nigerian home concierge startup expanded to Kenya

Lynk, a Nigerian home concierge services scheduling platform, has expanded to Kenya, with its entry aided by its acquisition of Lynk, a software business that connects unemployed people to employment possibilities.

Eden Life, a subscription service that delivers high-quality chef-cooked meals, laundry services, and house cleaning, was launched in Nigeria in 2019 with the goal of connecting busy professionals with concierge services.

Since its introduction, the firm has provided over 150,000 services in Nigeria, with an 80% retention rate over the previous year. It’s now available in Kenya, where it’s launched a new beauty and wellness service for Nairobi residents.

Eden Life’s entry into Kenya has been aided by Lynk’s strategic purchase. Lynk was founded in 2015 and has since helped over 150,000 people find work, sending over $4.5 million to over 2,000 people. After being harmed by COVID-19 lockdowns in the last two years, Lynk’s main investor, Enza Capital, linked the company’s founders with Eden Life and orchestrated a strategic purchase, allowing Eden Life to expand into Nairobi faster thanks to Lynk’s established client base.

“It’s truly exciting to continue the phenomenal legacy of the Lynk platform and be part of the evolution in recreating smart-service delivery solutions for busy Nairobians to manage their work-play lifestyle. The combination of the technology that powered Lynk to empower informal workers and the data-rich Eden Life app presents an immense opportunity to grow not just the menu of services, but also the number of people who can benefit from the platform,” said Akinyi Ooko-Ombaka, country lead at Eden Life Kenya.
