Edtech startup byteXL raises $9 M funding from Elevar Equity

Edtech startup byteXL has secured $9 million in its latest funding round, led by Elevar Equity, with existing investors Kalaari Capital and the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation also participating.
The funding comes after the company raised $5.9 million in a Series A round in July 2024 from Kalaari Capital and the Dell Foundation.
The newly raised capital will be deployed to expand byteXL’s network of institutional partners, strengthen its AI and technology platform, and introduce additional skilling programmes. The company also plans to invest in AI-powered learning and assessment, student analytics and personalised learning solutions.
Founded by brothers Karun and Sricharan Tadepalli, byteXL partners with engineering colleges, particularly those in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, to help students develop technology and AI skills alongside their formal education.
Its approach integrates industry-aligned curricula, hands-on training, technology platforms and trained educators into existing college programmes.
Plans to expand institutional reach
byteXL claims that 7,600 of its graduates secured jobs in IT and engineering roles last year. The company currently reaches approximately 200,000 students through partnerships with 40 institutions.
Over the next two years, byteXL aims to expand its network to 120 institutions and reach 500,000 students across 15 states.
