Emversity raised $5 M Pre-Series A funding from Lightspeed and Z47

The pre-Series A funding round for Beyond Odds Technologies, the parent company of the skill-training platform Emversity, has raised $5 million. Alteria Capital and Innoven Capital are also participating. Lightspeed and Z47 are leading the round.

With an initial investment of $11 million, Vivek Sinha, the former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Unacademy, founded Beyond Odds Technologies in April 2024. Matrix Partners India and Lightspeed led the seed funding round.

Currently runs 36 campuses in 18 states. The platform’s main goal is to develop a competent grey-collar workforce in important industries like hospitality, travel, and healthcare. Its goal is to reach more than 75 campuses by the end of the fiscal year.

Students are prepared for careers as nurses, paramedics, lab technicians, caregivers, and other healthcare occupations under the Emversity School of Allied Health Sciences. Major hotel chains have partnered with the recently established Emversity School of Hospitality to offer training in room operations, culinary techniques, and food and beverage service.

Higher education at Emversity incorporates training from the industry. Employer-sponsored stipends and industry-designed curricula are part of its model to increase accessibility and job readiness.

In collaboration with higher education institutions, the company offers honors and vocational degree options through its two programs, SMART and EDGE. Training, internships, and job placements are all part of both programs.
