Equentis led $2 M Pre–series A funding raised by DocPharma

In a pre-Series A fundraising round headed by Equentis, DocPharma, a rapid commerce supply chain platform for healthcare that complies with prescription regulations, has raised $2 million. A group of strategic angel investors, Vinners, and current investor 100Unicorns all took part in the round.

As it grows from more than 12 to more than 50 cities, the company intends to use the money to construct 100 new compliant and licensed dark stores. According to a news statement from DocPharma, the expansion will improve the infrastructure that presently supports over 30 health and wellness programs nationwide.

DocPharma, a backend supply chain platform for healthcare companies, was founded in 2023 by Saquib Ali, Shashank Rai, and Sagar Chauhan. More than 30 healthcare and wellness platforms are supported by its network of authorized dark stores, DocPharma One SaaS platform, AI-powered inventory management, and prescription-compliant fulfillment infrastructure.

E-pharmacies, health insurance, corporate wellness, hospitals, D2C wellness and nutraceutical brands, and pet care companies are just a few of the platforms the company works with. It makes it possible for these platforms to provide consumers with pharmaceuticals and medical supplies without creating their own supply chain.

With a fulfillment rate of over 95%, the Bengaluru-based business says it has completed over 800,000 orders and operates in over 12 cities. It claimed that over 500,000 lives in India have been influenced by its efforts.

Order administration, fulfillment, inventory intelligence, and warehouse management are all integrated into a single operating system by DocPharma’s own SaaS platform. The platform facilitates prescription compliant processing, distributes orders to the closest compliant fulfillment center, and offers real-time inventory visibility.

The funding comes as quick commerce platforms and healthcare supply chains continue to grow in India, with businesses trying to balance quicker delivery with the legal constraints associated with pharmaceutical fulfillment.

Accel, Elevation Capital, and Nexus Venture Partners co-led the $15 million Series A fundraising round for Plazza, a Bengaluru-based pharmacy’s first rapid commerce firm, in July. With the goal of delivering medications in 15 to 30 minutes, the company intends to use the funds to improve its supply chain skills, pharmacy network, and AI-driven inventory data.
