Habuild transforms accidental yoga journey into success
Habuild, a technology-based startup helping people practice a healthy lifestyle with the help of Yoga, that stumbled upon an accidental venture, has now taken the yoga world by storm. It was in 2020, when the pandemic had hit the country and curfew was announced, that a group of yoga practitioners had thought of initiating yoga classes virtually. Habuild aims to make yoga more accessible in a more engaging and personalized manner.
On being asked about funding, Saurabh Bothra, co-founder, Habuild commented saying, “The primary reason for this is that, when you bring an investor, they would want returns and that is not the primary goal of what we are trying to do. What we want to do is to reach more people. We are community-driven and everything we do is about people.”
He further added, “In the long run, referrals are the best way to build a brand. Our target audience doesn’t even go on a website to look for us. They find us on YouTube, Instagram or WhatsApp. These are the primary mediums of communication for us.”
Commenting on this, Sheetal Pungliva, tech expert, trainer at Habuild, said, “What we talk about and promote is that people should commit to some form of exercise, even if it is as simple as walking for 10 minutes on a mat. Movement not only has benefits at the physical level but also the emotional and interpersonal levels”.
She further added, “Once people have made a habit of moving, they are ready for breathing, meditation, and a gradual progress to other exercises.”
The Pune based startup was founded in 2022 by Saurabh Bothra, Sheetal Pungliva, Trishala Bothra and Anshul Agarwal. It had begun as a small venture and has now transformed into a flourishing yoga startup. Initially, the startup had about 1500 clients and the numbers grew from there. Currently, Habuild has become one of the fastest growing wellness platforms and has taught yoga to over 10 lakh people till date, across the globe.
The startup got together seasoned yoga instructors, who brought their wealth of knowledge and expertise to the startup’s digital platform. Habuild has created a virtual yoga studio that transcends the limitations of physical space with the help of carefully curated videos, live streaming sessions, and personalized coaching sessions.
The health and wellness industry has been growing with innovations in products, services etc. In 2017, a report by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) showed that the health and wellness industry is worth Rs 1,10,000 crore. Further it is expected that the industry will grow at 5.55% between the years 2023 to 2028.
