Indonesia jobs platform KitaLulus’s seed funding backed by Go-Ventures

KitaLulus, an Indonesian professional networking and job-search website, has received an unknown amount of initial capital headed by Go-Ventures.

Angel investors in the round included Phil Opamuratawongse (CEO and Co-Founder Shipper), JJ Chai (CEO and Co-Founder Rainforest), Aldi Haryopratomo (former CEO GoPay), YC Ng (Partner AC Ventures), and Abhinay Peddisetty (CEO and Co-Founder BukuWarung).

KitaLulus plans to use the money to grow its product and technical teams, as well as strengthen its position in the Indonesian market, where it now serves six metropolitan regions.

KitaLulus, founded in 2021 by serial entrepreneurs Stevien Jimmy and Wei-Chuan Chew, promises to solve a lack of access to the relevant networks and uneven access to opportunities for employees, as well as candidate mismatch.

Members can take online courses to prepare for government and professional exams (upskill), join relevant communities based on their educational and professional backgrounds (network), create user profiles, view available jobs, take a short screening test, and make direct contact with their potential employer via Whatsapp through KitaLulus’ mobile app (find jobs).

The portal claims to have processed one million job applications every month and to have over 20 communities for conversations, surveys, and experience sharing.

Over the next five to ten years, KitaLulus anticipates significant tailwinds from the economic recovery following the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as the growing working-age population in the archipelago.
