Info Edge Ventures led Rs 20 Cr Series A funding raised by indoor air quality firm YOGa Clean Air
YOGa Clean Air, an indoor air quality firm, has raised Rs 20 crore in a Series A fundraising round led by Info Edge Ventures, with participation from Three Words Capital and Deepinder Goyal, creator of Zomato/Eternal.
According to a news statement, the firm plans to use the new funding to expand into new Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, strengthen its position in current areas, and expand its systems to public transportation and other outdoor settings.
YOGa Clean Air was founded in 2019 by Sachin Panwar, Deepak Raina, and Gaurav Nagar. Its unique Clean Air Bubble technology filters incoming air and keeps the air pressure slightly higher inside an area to keep polluted air out. In order to preserve interior air quality, the system also controls carbon dioxide levels.
Over 5,000 families and hundreds of institutions, including hospitals, schools, offices, and gyms, are reportedly served by the Gurugram-based company’s systems in 11 Indian cities, including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. For its technology, it has two patents.
According to YOGa, their systems have kept CO2 levels under control while reducing interior air pollution to single-digit levels even when outdoor pollution exceeded 900 µg/m³. Additionally, the business states that its yearly maintenance contracts have a 100% renewal rate.
Startups in the indoor air-quality market have expanded beyond traditional air purifiers to include plant-based purification, pathogen management, HVAC-integrated filtration, air-quality monitoring, and industrial emission control.
NovorbisItus, situated in Pune, recently obtained Rs 13.35 crore ($1.6 million) in seed finance for air purification and emission control systems, spearheaded by Rainmatter. As it grows its line of indoor air-quality products, Airth, which creates filters that turn regular air conditioners into air purifiers, has also raised money.
Other companies in the market include Biomoneta, which is creating medical-grade air-cleaning products, and uBreathe Life, which is run by Urban Air Labs and has received assistance from the Technology Development Board for its plant-based indoor air-purification technology.
