In a seed fundraising round headed by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), hair beauty and styling company Truth & Hair has raised Rs 5.4 crore. Additionally, Varun Alagh, a co-founder of Mamaearth, offered the brand an on-air deal during its appearance on Shark Tank India Season 5.

According to a news statement from Truth & Hair, the new funding will be utilized to improve the brand’s standing in the hair makeup and styling industry, promote product innovation, increase marketing initiatives, and extend its distribution network.

Truth & Hair, a D2C hair beauty and styling company based in Gurugram, was founded in 2024 by Saumya Alagh and Shailesh Singh. Its products go beyond the conventional shampoo and conditioner category. The Root Touch Up Hair Mascara, Flyaway Wand, and 3-in-1 Curly Styler are among its products, and they are made for curly, wavy, and straight hair.

The company claims that instead of concentrating on a particular hair type, their solutions are designed to handle a variety of hair textures.

The market for hair care and styling products in India was estimated to be worth $5.85 billion in 2024 and is expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.8% to reach $8.93 billion by 2029.

According to the company, it concentrates on formulations supported by science and seeks to increase the accessibility of hair styling and makeup products for a larger range of consumers.
