Laundry and home cleaning brand Ecosys raises Rs 5 Cr Pre-Series A funding

Mumbai-based laundry and home-care brand Ecosys has secured Rs 5 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by GVFL Prarambh Fund. Proteus Partners also participated in the round, with backing from operator-investors Puru Gupta and Sreejith Moolayil. The latest investment brings Ecosys’ cumulative funding to Rs 7.94 crore.

According to a company press release, the new capital will be directed towards strengthening the brand, expanding its digital presence and launching new product formats across the laundry and home-cleaning categories.

Ecosys was founded in 2017 by Sumit Goyal and Chirag Dangi. The company manufactures laundry pods using water-soluble PVA film, with each 20-ml pod containing detergent, fabric softener and stain remover in a pre-measured format compatible with both top-load and front-load washing machines.

The brand distributes its products through e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms and is working to drive wider adoption of laundry pods as an alternative to traditional liquid and powder detergents.

Ecosys cited market research indicating that India’s household cleaning products market is expanding at an annual rate of nearly 14%, which is more than twice the pace of global market growth.

Other companies in India’s laundry and home-cleaning segment have also attracted investor interest. Koparo raised Rs 14.5 crore in an extended pre-Series A round last year, while Cleevo secured $1 million in seed funding. Beco raised $10 million from Tanglin Venture Partners, and Scrubsy raised Rs 27 crore from V3 Ventures in August this year.
