Logistics startup OORJAA raises Rs 9.7 Cr Series A funding from Equentis Angel Fund

With participation from Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), OORJAA, a technology-driven logistics platform, has raised Rs 9.7 crore ($1 million) in a Series A funding round headed by Equentis Angel Fund. The startup is in advanced talks with a couple VC funds for this initial close of a larger round.
According to a press statement from OORJAA, the additional funds will be utilized for product and technology development, expanding Datashastra, its exclusive AI/SaaS logistics stack, and bolstering its control-tower and automation capabilities.
In September 2023, the Mumbai-based firm raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A investment led by Micello Fund, which also included Capital-A, Java Capital, Anicut Capital, and Lead Angels. It raised Rs 5.35 crore in a pre-Series A 2 in October 2023.
Co-founded in 2019 by Sandeep Patil, Prashant Mohite, Yogesh Parab and Umesh Singh, OORJAA is a technology-led logistics company operating mid-mile and last-mile networks across more than 200 Indian cities.
OORJAA’s proprietary AI stack, Datashastra, powers route optimisation, reconciliation and 24×7 control-tower visibility. The platform is also offered as a standalone SaaS suite internationally. Its differentiator is an outcome-linked cost-per-unit model, under which clients pay for units moved rather than assets deployed.
According to market research, the global logistics market is valued at $10 trillion, while the logistics SaaS segment, which Datashastra focuses on, is growing at a high single-digit to double-digit CAGR.
OORJAA claims to move more than 3 million products and 50,000 last-mile orders daily across over 200 cities, while maintaining 95% SLA compliance for enterprise clients including Zepto, Blinkit, Amazon and Swiggy. The company is also deploying EVs across dense urban clusters to further lower unit costs and emissions.
For business clients including Zepto, Blinkit, Amazon, and Swiggy, OORJAA claims to maintain 95% SLA compliance while moving over 3 million products and 50,000 last-mile orders per day across more than 200 cities. To further reduce unit costs and emissions, the business is also deploying EVs throughout densely populated urban areas.
Technology-driven logistics platforms, which use AI, SaaS, automation, real-time tracking, data analytics, and digital marketplaces to address inefficiencies in the nation’s dispersed freight and supply-chain sector, are becoming a more significant component of India’s startup ecosystem.
TrucksUp, a company based in Gurugram, raised $8.2 million today to improve its technological platform and expedite transportation operations. While tech-driven EV fleet and fulfillment company TOCAL got Rs 9 crore to expand into new locations and develop fulfillment infrastructure, FreightFox raised Rs 5 crore to scale its transportation management and control-tower platform.
