Majority stake in Nautilus Mobile acquired by KRAFTON for Rs 118 Cr

BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI) developer KRAFTON has paid Rs 118 crore ($13.7 million) to acquire a majority share in Pune-based game developer Nautilus Mobile.

This is the first full-control deal that KRAFTON has made in India.

The most well-known product from Nautilus Mobile is Real Cricket, a well-liked mobile cricket game. The studio was completely purchased by JetSynthesys in 2020, and KRAFTON subsequently contributed Rs 40.5 crore in 2022.

KRAFTON hopes to increase Indian game development and increase its market share in sports gaming with this acquisition.

As a minority investor, JetSynthesys will continue to collaborate with Nautilus, particularly in the esports space. India will become a global gaming hub thanks to this deal, according to Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON India. The collaboration will support Real Cricket’s global expansion, according to Anuj Mankar, CEO of Nautilus Mobile.

Since 2021, KRAFTON has made over $200 million in investments in Indian startups and is still helping out regional game developers. Given India’s increasing interest in gaming and cricket, this action enhances KRAFTON’s standing within the nation’s gaming community.
