Majority stake in Pro Football Network acquired by Sportskeeda parent
The parent business of the sports news and analysis website Sportskeeda, Absolute Sports, which is owned by Nazara Technologies, has bought a 73.27% share in the US-based Pro Football Network LLC.
In order to complete the $1.8 million acquisition, according to Absolute Sports, the company will use its cash reserves. It also comprises primary capital injection and secondary stock purchases.
In the American sports media sector, this is Absolute Sports’ first acquisition. According to a statement from the company, the agreement would enable both businesses to realize synergistic benefits and expand their U.S. geographic reach.
Via its main brand Sportskeeda, Absolute Sports provides content on sports and esports to more than 100 million people each month. Nazara, a publicly traded firm, acquired the majority of the company’s then-10-year-old business in 2019.
Pro Football Network is a well-known NFL-focused sports website in the nation with more than 5 million unique monthly active visitors on average. Absolute Sports’ current portfolio of sports media brands is anticipated to benefit from its in-depth coverage of the NFL, which includes special content and tools geared at fantasy football players.
