Media and television distribution company NKN Media raises $4.08 M at $81.69 Mn valuation

NKN Media, a media and television distribution company, has secured a strategic investment of AED 15 million ($4.08 million) from entrepreneur and investor Dhiraj Jain, founder and chairman of 1XL. The transaction values NKN Media at AED 300 million ($81.69 million), with Jain acquiring a 5% stake in the company.

According to NKN Media, the new capital will support its plans to expand beyond the UAE while deepening its footprint across the international media and entertainment industry.

While distribution remains a core part of its business, NKN Media is gradually evolving into a diversified media company. Its portfolio now spans original intellectual properties, entertainment formats, international events and strategic partnerships with media organisations.

The company is also creating UAE-focused original IPs aimed at audiences in India, the Middle East and other international markets. Among its recent launches is Falcons of Majlis, a reality funding show centred on the UAE’s expanding startup ecosystem.

The show brings together founders, investors and personalities from the business and entertainment worlds, giving selected startups an opportunity to present their businesses before a panel of investors.

NKN Media’s existing IP portfolio includes Falcons of Majlis, Dubai Property Expo, Indo-UAE International Property Expo and Icons of UAE. The company intends to take these properties into additional international markets as it works towards establishing a global media and entertainment platform.

The company currently operates across the UAE, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, Bahrain, India and Sri Lanka. Its broadcast partnerships include networks such as Republic TV, Aaj Tak, India Today and Times Now. NKN Media also publishes SpiceRoute, the in-flight magazine of SpiceJet.
