Medical tourism startup CureMeAbroad raises $1.1 M Pre-seed funding

Pune-based healthcare technology startup CureMeAbroad has raised $1.1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by healthcare-focused venture capital firm SteerX Ventures. Existing investor AIRA also participated in the round.

In April this year, the startup secured $600,000 from investors including Roman Saini, Himanshu Ratnoo, Kunal Gupta, Devaiah Bopanna, Vikrant Potnis and AIRA.

The latest funding will help CureMeAbroad expand its network of accredited hospitals, enter additional patient source markets and enhance its AI-powered platform. The company also plans to strengthen its operations and technology teams, expand into non-elective treatment categories such as orthopaedics and oncology, and explore setting up physical experience centres in key international markets.

Founded in June 2025 by Aditya Oza and Mikhail Bohra, CureMeAbroad connects international patients with hospitals and treatment options overseas. The platform enables users to compare hospitals, verify healthcare providers, obtain treatment cost estimates and book medical care across destinations.

Its services combine hospital discovery, treatment planning, pricing transparency and patient support. The company currently attracts more than 22,500 visitors per month and maintains a hospital network spanning six countries.

Targets $100 million in annual bookings

CureMeAbroad is aiming to achieve $100 million in annual patient treatment bookings by FY2028, up from its current run rate of $4.8 million. The startup identifies the US, UK, Australia and Canada as its key patient source markets.

The company operates in a competitive medical tourism market alongside platforms such as Bookimed, PlacidWay, The Medical Tourism Company and Medical Departures.

India-based Vaidam Health is another player in the segment, helping international patients identify hospitals and explore treatment options.

CureMeAbroad has also received Medical Travel Facilitator Certification from Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA). According to GHA, the platform’s network includes more than 400 accredited hospitals across six countries.
