Banarasi food brand Banaraswala has secured $2 million in seed funding from Prax Impex Private Limited.
The company plans to utilise the capital to open more outlets, introduce new menu options and expand its franchise network across the country.
Founded by Vibhanshu Mishra, Banaraswala operates with the tagline “Ghat Se Ghar Tak” and offers traditional Banarasi cuisine, including sweets, chaats and meals. Its dining experience incorporates traditional elements such as kulhads, pattal and clay.
The brand currently has three outlets across Delhi and is planning to enter Banswara in Rajasthan, Sarangpur in Gujarat, and Farrukhabad and Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. Its products are also available through leading food delivery platforms.
Banaraswala is targeting 50 outlets across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR and other Tier 2 markets by March 2027. The planned expansion will comprise a mix of company-operated and franchise locations.
Alongside its geographical expansion, the company intends to strengthen its operational capabilities, workforce and internal processes to support its growth across new markets.
