ReelSaga raised $2.1 M Seed funding from Picus Capital

The entertainment startup ReelSaga, which focuses on mobile devices, has raised $2.1 million in a seed funding round headed by Picus Capital. ITI Growth Opportunities Fund, Nazara Technologies, 8i Ventures, Waveform Ventures, Warmup Ventures, Bombay54, Bharat Founders Fund, and a number of angel investors also participated in the round.

The money raised will be utilized to improve app development and create top-notch, regionally relevant content for mobile users in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and India.

ReelSaga, a platform founded in 2024 by Shubh Bansal, Shanu Vivek, and Ritesh Pandey, combines storytelling with short, binge-worthy content to offer vertical, short-form dramas that last between one and two minutes each.

Through hyper-personalized content driven by data science and product innovation, the founders, who previously co-founded Truebil (later acquired by Spinny), hope to revolutionize mobile entertainment.

With more than 5,000 series produced annually in China, microdramas are becoming a popular form of entertainment. With locally relevant, emotionally compelling short episodes, ReelSaga intends to bring this trend to India.

With the launch of its app, ReelSaga has made its debut in India’s changing digital entertainment market.
