SA based Engen accepting applications for $67k startup pitching competition
Engen, a South African petroleum corporation, has launched its Pitch & Polish pitching competition, in which 16 entrepreneurs will compete for a first prize of ZAR1 million (US $67,000).
Pitch & Polish, now in its 12th year, became totally virtual for the first time in 2021, when Pieter du Plessis and Viljoen de Kock, owners of GUDGU, from Cape Town, took home the top prize.
This year’s competition will be held entirely online, with candidates having access to a planned learning curriculum as well as their own business mentors. The entrepreneurs will be assisted in honing and improving their pitches throughout the programme.
The winning firm will get a grand prize of ZAR650,000 (US $43,000) in cash and a Raizcorp incubation bursary of ZAR350,000 (US $24,000). Entrepreneurs with a registered business from all around South Africa can apply online until April 11th.
