Surgical care startup Axten Hospitals raises Rs 2.5 Cr from PedalStart

The surgical care startup Axten Hospitals has raised Rs 2.5 crore in its first structured funding round, which was led by PedalStart and included angel investors.

Over the course of the next 12 months, the proceeds will be utilized to open three new hospital facilities using an asset-light expansion model that prioritizes working capital, partnerships, branding, and legal setup. Additionally, Axten intends to introduce a technological platform for post-operative care, booking, and patient discovery.

Axten Hospitals, which was founded by Gauttam Chhabra, runs specialized surgical facilities with an emphasis on fixed pricing, operational efficiency, and standardized care delivery.

In FY25, the startup opened a pilot facility in East of Kailash, New Delhi, and reported revenue of about Rs 9 crore in its first year while maintaining a positive EBITDA. In the fields of general surgery, orthopaedics, gynecology, urology, ENT, and oncology, Axten specializes in high-volume procedures.

In order to lower surprise billing and increase pricing transparency, the company’s primary business model provides fixed-price surgical packages under its “Honest Surgery Price” approach.

Over the next five years, the startup hopes to generate Rs 250 crore in revenue and establish a network of more than 25 facilities throughout the top five metro areas.
