To accelerate healthcare market and AI in Southeast Asia, Thailand’s HD HD raised $7.8 M Series A funding

Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD), a healthcare company based in the United States, participated in a Series A-1 strategic extension round that closed Thursday, bringing HD’s total Series A funding to $7.8 million. HD is a healthcare and surgery marketplace based in Thailand.

With more assistance from MSD, HD is ready to increase its influence even more and bring accessible, reasonably priced healthcare to all of Southeast Asia, the organization said in a statement.

With its HDmall and Jib AI, the company hopes to reach 600,000 patients and assist over 5,000 healthcare providers by 2025, allowing them to concentrate more on patient care.

The funding is the first investment by MSD IDEA Studio Asia Pacific, a program of the MSD Global Health Innovation Fund (MGHIF) and MSD Asia Pacific regional team that supports and works with startups that are providing game-changing healthcare solutions, the statement said.

By making this investment, MGHIF joins a group of well-known investors who have contributed to HD’s Series A funding round, including SBI Ven Capital, M Venture Partners, FEBE Ventures, Partech Partners, Ratio Ventures, Orvel Ventures, and TA Ventures.

In addition to allowing HD to further develop its flagship HDmall healthcare marketplace and Jib AI technology, this involvement reflects MGHIF’s dedication to promoting innovative healthcare in the Asia Pacific region.

It is noteworthy that HD has doubled its growth and successfully developed and implemented its Jib AI technology in the nine months since its Series A round, which was led by SBI Ven Capital.

Currently, autonomous AI agents handle more than 60% of HD’s chat commerce, providing consumers with excellent, real-time, round-the-clock responses.

Most importantly, Jib AI takes care of most initial triaging and care navigation, freeing up healthcare professionals—including doctors, nurses, and surgeons—to concentrate more on delivering remarkable patient care.

Jib AI’s agent capabilities will continue to grow over the course of the upcoming year, encompassing order and refund processing, scheduling, assisted checkouts, querying and reviewing electronic health records, retrieving medical information via the Jib AI Health Assistant, and AI-enabled asynchronous virtual care with knowledgeable doctors.

“This investment from MGHIF, their first in Southeast Asia, underscores the importance of our mission,

“With MSD IDEA Studio Asia Pacific’s strategic support, HD’s extensive and rapidly growing network of over 2,500 healthcare providers, and our proprietary Jib AI technology, we’re excited to accelerate our journey toward making affordable, high-quality healthcare accessible to millions,” said Sheji Ho, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of HD.

The statement claims that healthcare providers on the HDmall marketplace are very interested in integrating Jib AI into their direct channels and daily operations due to its success in improving patient navigation in healthcare while offering operating leverage.

HD is dedicated to providing healthcare providers with cutting-edge solutions that enable better, more economical, and patient-centered care in the digital age as their needs continue to change.
