Transition VC led $1.05 M Pre-series A funding secured by Albatross Energetics

Deep tech company Albatross Energetics has raised $1.05 million (around Rs 10 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Transition VC.

The Mumbai based startup had previously secured Rs 1.3 crore in 2024 from Social Alpha and SINE.

The fresh funds will be used to establish pilot scale manufacturing capabilities, expand commercial deployments across industrial sectors, strengthen its engineering and quality teams, and accelerate research and development, Albatross Energetics said in a press release.

Founded in 2021 by Sudarsan M S and Srihari B, Albatross Energetics develops energy efficient air conditioning and dehumidification systems for industrial applications.

The company uses proprietary liquid desiccant technology to remove moisture directly from the air, reducing the energy required for humidity control. It designs, manufactures, and deploys industrial cooling systems for sectors including pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, electronics, batteries, food processing, chemicals, and textiles, helping customers reduce operating costs and carbon emissions.

According to the company, its proprietary liquid desiccant platform addresses humidity management, one of the most energy intensive and operationally critical aspects of industrial cooling systems.

Albatross plans to expand its technology beyond industrial applications into commercial buildings and broader global cooling markets.

The startup competes with global players including BlueFrontier, Mojave, and Transaera.
