Walbha Industries receives Rs 10 Cr investment from circular economy company Recykal

Circular economy company Recykal has made a strategic investment of Rs 10 crore in biomass briquette and pellet manufacturer Walbha Industries.

The investment marks Recykal’s entry into the bioenergy value chain, expanding its focus beyond waste management to biomass based industrial fuel. The partnership aims to connect Walbha’s biomass production with Recykal’s network of more than 620 brands and manufacturers, creating a demand channel for biomass fuel.

Walbha will also gain access to Recykal’s technology platform to digitise and streamline its supply chain, while Recykal’s enterprise customers will get access to verified biomass fuel. The investment will also support Walbha’s expansion into South India.

Walbha Industries provides biomass briquettes and pellets to industrial clients in North and Central India through its biomass manufacturing facility in Jhansi.

Recykal was established in 2015 and creates digital platforms for circular commerce, waste management, deposit return systems, and AI-enabled reverse vending machines. In addition to working with more than 650 companies and more than 5,000 aggregators and recyclers, the company claims to have channelized more than 3 million metric tonnes of waste.
