$1 M Seed funding raised by B2B catering service Waku

An Australian venture capital business controlled by Navanti Holdings and Sapien Ventures, Nasa Ventures, and 11th Space Indonesia teamed up to finance $1 million for Waku, an Indonesian food startup.

Waku, formerly known as Wakuliner, was established in 2017 and offers corporate and governmental institutions catering and canteen management services. Additionally, it provides frozen food, snacks, and prepared dinners for lone clients.

The company reported that since the end of 2019, its revenue has surged by more than 14 times. Over 570 consumers received 4.3 million meals from it within the same time period.

Anthony Gunawan is a culinary entrepreneur who founded Waku. It is connected to the government-owned telecom company Telkom Indonesia and the local restaurant chain Boga Group.

The company intends to use the new capital for both product development and commercial and global expansion.
