12-month entrepreneurial training programme opens applications for MEST

Applications are now being accepted for the 12-month tech entrepreneurship training program offered by the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST).

MEST is a pan-African software and entrepreneurship training program, seed fund, and incubator that was founded in Ghana in 2008 by serial entrepreneur Jorn Lyseggen. It assists in the launch of technology startups throughout the continent.

Based in Accra, the 12-month fully-sponsored training program helps aspiring entrepreneurs turn their ideas into successful startup companies by teaching them various skills such as software development, go-to-market strategies, sales strategies, UI/UX design, communications, and more through modules.

The program’s goal is to prepare interested parties to present their business concepts to investors and start companies that use software to solve regional and worldwide problems. After completing a rigorous curriculum and receiving mentoring from prominent figures in the industry and globally recognized specialists, participants will have the opportunity to obtain seed funding and business incubation for their startups.

The training of over a thousand entrepreneurs and the funding of over ninety funded startups throughout the continent bear witness to the impact of MEST.

“Our mission at MEST is to empower the next generation of African tech innovators,” said Emily Fiagbedzi, director of the MEST Training Programme. “The Class of 2025 presents an exciting opportunity to nurture and elevate the brightest minds, equipping them with the skills and resources needed to drive impactful change across the continent through their tech startups.”

Applications are accepted online through March 18; the program starts in August.
