$15 M invested in Kimirica by Vikas Khemani’s Carnelian

About $15 million has been invested in the high-end vegan self-care brand Kimirica by Carnelian Asset Management LLP, which is run by industry veteran Vikas Khemani. This partnership supports Kimirica Lifestyle (KL), a direct-to-consumer luxury beauty brand, and Kimirica Hunter (KH), a manufacturer of hotel amenities.

According to a press release, Kimirica plans to use the money to expand its omnichannel retail presence and provide more customers with access to self-care experiences.

Mohit, Rajat, Kimi, and Rica Jain founded Kimirica in 2013 as a bootstrapped company with the goal of upending an import-heavy sector where 90% of hotel toiletries were sourced from China. After ten years, Kimirica has reduced that figure to nearly nothing. It currently exports to more than 70 nations and collaborates with over a hundred upscale hotels and airlines, such as Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Accor, Leela, and Air India.

Now, Kimirica has entered the direct-to-consumer retail market. With a portfolio that includes skincare, body care, fine fragrances, luxury gifting, and home & wellness, the company is vegan, cruelty-free, and fair-trade certified.

According to Kimirica, it dominates the bath and body and gifting markets. It sells its goods on platforms like Nykaa, Amazon, Tira, and quick commerce. With more than ten new experiential stores scheduled to open throughout India and the Middle East, its retail footprint is expanding quickly.

From luxury fragrances to its newest men’s grooming line, The Gentleman, the brand is still growing into high-growth markets.
