A pre-series A round-headed by Kalaari Capital and its seed investor Lumikai secured $2.6 million for Bengaluru-based Studio Sirah, a developer of mid-core games with an Indian focus.
By June 2023, Studio Sirah plans to deploy Kurukshetra: Ascension, their main video game, across the globe. The money will also aid in developing its second title.
Abhaas and Prateek Shah founded Studio Sirah, an Indian-focused developer of mid-core games for mobile and PC.
Its main game, Kurukshetra: Ascension, is a free-to-play card battler with a Mahabharata and Ramayana theme.
Kurukshetra-Ascension has more than 120K organic downloads in beta and is accessible in early access on Steam and the Play Store. Prior to that, Lumikai and a group of angel investors including Sameer Pitalwalla, Piyush Shah, Roshni Rathi, Akshat Rathee, the founder of Nodwin Games, Alexis Bonte, the chief operating officer of Stillfront Games, and Alexis Bonte led Studio Sirah in raising $830,000 in September 2021 for its seed round (Head Of Gaming, Google Cloud).
