$4.5 M funding raised by Fintech startup BharatX from Y Combinator, others

BharatX, a fintech firm located in India, has secured $4.5 million in a fundraising round led by Y Combinator, 8i Ventures, Multiply Ventures, and Soma Capital.

The cash will be used to grow the company’s personnel and improve its product.

Arash Ferdowsi, co-founder of Dropbox; Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar, cofounders of Razorpay; Varun Alagh, co-founder of Mamaearth, Kunal Shah, co-founder of Cred, Ankur Aggarwal, Cofounder of Dunzo; and Vikas Choudhury, President of Reliance Jio, all participated in the investment round.

BharatX is a fintech business that enables consumer-facing platforms to offer credit-as-a-feature. It was founded in 2019 by Mehul Nath Jindal, Eeshan Sharma, and Shyam Murugan, all of whom are alumni of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy.

In December 2021, BharatX secured $250,000 (Rs 1.81 crore) in a pre-seed round from angel investors.
