$500k pre-seed funding raised by Nigerian fintech startup Syarpa

Syarpa, a Nigerian finance firm, has raised $500,000 in a pre-seed round to help it expand throughout Europe and Africa.

Syarpa, which has over 2,000 members and has completed transactions worth over $4 million since its start, enables customers to conduct both international money transfers and crypto swaps by providing fiat and crypto payment alternatives.

After collecting a US $500,000 pre-seed fundraising round headed by CrossFund and FirstFounders, including Yolo Investments and a strategic angel investor, the firm is now looking to expand throughout Europe and Africa.

“Moving funds or purchasing goods across borders is too complicated. People in Nigeria need to convert their local currency or crypto assets, move across platforms, and pay several fees because there is no comprehensive one-step solution. Syarpa is built to solve this problem,” said founder and CEO Adedapo Sodipo.
