$6 M initiative launched by Eyouth, EDT&Partners to leverage tech skills in Africa

A ground-breaking collaboration between Egyptian skills development startup Eyouth and global education consultancy EDT&Partners aims to provide one million youth in the Middle East and Africa with critical digital skills. Supported by a $6 million investment, the partnership will use cutting-edge digital tools and strategic educational frameworks to train people between the ages of 15 and 35 in critical fields like programming, data analysis, artificial intelligence, digital marketing, and modern pedagogy.

The project highlights the transformative potential of technology and teamwork in influencing the future of education and employment. It was unveiled at Bett 2025, the world’s premier education technology event.

Together with the cutting-edge educational technologies and frameworks from EDT&Partners, the program will make use of Eyouth’s well-established platform and knowledge of skills development throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The program, which is scheduled to begin in February 2025, will also offer financial assistance to qualified educators in the area.

With the MENA region facing particularly severe challenges, the global digital skills gap is estimated to be $2.5 trillion. The region’s workforce is only 1.7% “digital talent,” despite the fact that by 2030, the world will require an extra 44 million teachers, of whom 4.3 million will be needed in North Africa and West Asia alone.

This ambitious program, which combines EDT’s state-of-the-art AI-driven educational technologies with Eyouth’s successful skills development platform, has received a $6 million commitment from Eyouth and EDT&Partners. With an emphasis on empowering educators, the initiative seeks to close the digital divide in the MENA region.

Pablo Langa, Founder and Managing Partner of EDT&Partners, stated, “Education has a multiplier effect on our societies and economies. The digital skills gap and the importance of AI for educators are critical components in enhancing the competitiveness of the MENA region. We are proud and excited to partner with Eyouth on this large-scale, transformative initiative.”

Mostafa Abdel Latif, Co-Founder and CEO of Eyouth, added, “To date, we have developed the skills of over three million young people. Through this partnership, we aim to accelerate and empower an additional one million youth to unlock their potential and drive innovation across Africa and the Middle East.”

With the help of customized content and AI technologies from EDT and its partners, such as Amazon Web Services, participants will be able to access the program through an advanced learning platform that provides interactive and thorough training. Additionally, the program, which will be offered in both Arabic and English, will be implemented in higher education and vocational institutions like Cairo’s NextEra Coalition.

Hussein Ayoub, Regional Director for the Middle East and Africa at EDT&Partners, emphasised, “We are connecting Eyouth’s leading skills development platform in the MENA region with EDT&Partners’ global innovation and scalable educational solutions to deliver one of the most pioneering training initiatives in the world.”
