$8 M Series A funding raised by Tunisian ed-tech startup GoMyCode for expansion
GoMyCode, a Tunisian ed-tech firm, has acquired an $8 million Series A round of investment to help it expand throughout Africa and the Middle East.
GoMyCode began as a coding school in 2017 but has since expanded to include a variety of technology and digital career training programs. The company offers training in web and app development, artificial intelligence, data science, user experience, video game development, and business intelligence using a hybrid strategy that combines offline and online learning.
In Africa and the Middle East, the GoMyCode is presently available in eight countries. Over 1,000 new students enrol in one of the organization’s 30 educational courses every month. The Series A financing will help the firm extend its footprint in 12 countries, including South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, and Saudi Arabia.
By 2024, the company plans to establish 50 more facilities across the area in 12 different nations.
“We’re addressing a demand that almost no other company is capturing at our scale,” said Yahya Bouhlel, CEO and co-founder of GoMyCode.
“Local traditional training centres offer outdated content and methodology, and international online players struggle to enrol African students, due to their lack of understanding of local markets and unaffordable price points. We have a blended education model; we teach in twelve local languages and we’re positioning ourselves as a regional leader. I want to thank our investors for believing in what we’re doing, and I’m excited for what’s to come.”
